The official tests of the 2023 MotoE World Championship were staged on the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in March and then on the Montmeló circuit at the beginning of April.
Six days concluded with a positive balance in which Kevin Manfredi was able to discover the new Ducati V21L and get to know the new SIC58 Squadra Corse Team better.
In the first three days of testing in Jerez, the weather gave the riders no respite, with a continuous alternation of sun and rain. Despite the weather conditions, the La Spezia proved to be very fast right from the start, closing the first day in third position overall.
In the subsequent tests in Barcelona Kevin instead worked on finding different setups so as to understand the balance of the bike, concluding in the qualifying and race simulation with an 8th and 7th place which bode well in view of the start of the championship.
Kevin Manfredi: “Six very important days for me and the SIC58 Team, they were the first real opportunities to get to know each other better and understand the new bike.
I'm happy with the work we've done, especially with the various technical tests done in Barcelona which allowed us to collect important data in view of the first round scheduled for May.
I get on well with the whole team and the technical staff, I like their working method, so much so that we have always managed to be fast and constantly improving.
The new Ducati V21L is an incredible bike, it gave me a good feeling right away, so I can't wait to get back on the saddle for the start of the 2023 MotoE World Championship."
Kevin Manfredi therefore closes these first days of testing by hitting the pre-set objectives and collecting lots of data and good lap times.
A first approach that bodes well for the continuation of the season.
But now it's time to concentrate on the first round of the season for the centaur from Spezzino, the 24h of Le Mans, the first stage of the World Endurance Championship.
This year will be the sixth 24h of Le Mans in which Kevin will take part, the second astride the Yamaha R1 of the Wojcik Racing Team.
