TOP 10 AT THE ASSEN GRAND PRIX

The Assen Circuit in Drenthe hosted the fourth round of the 2023 MotoE World Championship, an unusually hot but still thrilling event for the Netherlands.

The just-concluded round was the last before the summer break in July, during which the riders and teams will have about five weeks to "recharge their batteries" before the Silverstone event in England.

Even at Assen, Kevin demonstrated great speed, achieving a new top 10 finish in the second race and setting the fourth fastest lap. Despite these positive results, however, the Spezzino rider is not completely satisfied and expects much more from the second half of the championship, aiming for an even more promising future.

Kevin: "We started this weekend well, securing sixth place in Free Practice 1 (FP1), but then in FP2 and qualifying, something was missing... This something heavily penalized us on the starting grid, where we only started from 14th position. The qualifying result was disappointing compared to the start of the season in Le Mans and Mugello, a result that made it difficult to make a comeback during the race.

In both races, we defended ourselves and continued to improve, especially in the second race where we set the fourth fastest lap. This shows that we are competitive, but we need to work on certain aspects to achieve what we deserve. We learn from mistakes, and I'm sure the summer break will give us the energy and mental clarity needed to restart with momentum at Silverstone. Although the English circuit will be new for MotoE, the riders are not unfamiliar with it, and I can't wait to get back on my bike 'Annah', turning the page and giving our all in the next eight races."

July will be a break period for the MotoE World Championship, but Kevin won't stop: at the end of the month, he will participate in the Racing Night of the Italian Speed Championship at Misano. It is on the same track where he secured his first Superbike podium at the beginning of the season, riding for the Penta Motorsport team.

Kevin thanks all the sponsors and technical partners of the 2023 season.
