A hot and atypical weekend hosted the French GP on the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans, with the presence of 300 thousand spectators for this new grand prix of the MotoGP and MotoE World Championships.
Kevin Manfredi from La Spezia went on to conquer again
an excellent top 10, significantly reducing the gap to the leaders compared to the first round in Portimao.
A good starting point for the continuation of the season, in a truly fierce and competitive category, with over 15 riders within less than a second.
In free practice on Friday, Kevin failed to set the time to directly enter Q2 by just 0.30 thousandths of a second. In Q1, however, he fought until the end with the reigning World Champion Casadei and the former 2019 Champion Ferrari to try to gain access to Q2.
Qualifying therefore ended in 13th position, just 0.2 tenths from the top 5 and 0.4 tenths from pole position, incredibly small gaps but this is the beauty of the MotoGP.
Saturday was then the time for two races, two good performances for Kevin who didn't make any mistakes, obtaining a good Top10.
Kevin: “A weekend of growth and continuous work also in the post-race period with the team to try to further improve our situation and get back into the leading positions. The championship has significantly raised its level, we have improved, but we are starting to be among the best and not to watch the others get on the podium, I look at the glass half full and I think that I am satisfied with myself, I gave 110% and that's what matters. We brought home useful points for the championship and a significantly more positive feeling compared to Portimao. Now we will have two challenging weekends in succession, first the Catalunya one, a track not very favorable to me and then the home GP at Mugello, my goal is to improve further in Barcelona to reach 100% at Mugello at the beginning of June."
Kevin Manfredi leaves Le Mans to prepare for the Catalunya GP scheduled for May 24/25, his number 34 Ducati V21L will be more charged than ever!!!
Kevin thanks all the sponsors and technical partners of the 2024 season.
