POLE POSITION AT THE 24H OF SPA FRANCORCHAMPS

The 24 hours of SPA Francorchamps, in Belgium, has just ended, a race that has not been on the calendar for 19 years, but which this season has made its comeback as the second round of the World Endurance Championship.

Once again we find among the absolute protagonists the Spezzino Kevin Manfredi who recorded the best time in the SuperStock category and together with the home rider Cresson, was the only one to break down the wall of two minutes and 24 seconds with the SuperStock, scoring precisely the time of 2.23.7.

From the time it takes to cover just one lap you can understand the tortuosity and complexity of the 7km of circuit that characterize the SPA track, with incredible passages at speeds of over 250 / 300km / h.

Kevin's speed, however, together with that of his mates allowed the Polish Team Wojcik 777 to conquer the first Pole Position in the history of the Team and to get Kevin his ninth pole position in the EWC SuperStock World Championship.

A 24h shot on Saturday at 13.00 under the sun and ending with incredible twists in the rain on Sunday.

Once again in charge of the start, Kevin managed his first stint perfectly, so it was also for the next 8, showing great professionalism.

Kevin: “A novelty for everyone is the 24h of SPA on an incredibly fast and technical circuit.

After the tests I was confident of the work done by both me and the rest of the team and so it was, the qualifying showed our speed and the race showed the work the technical team has done from Le Mans to today, where it hasn't we have never had mechanical trouble.

Too bad for the final result, the three crashes of my teammates did not allow us to achieve what we could really achieve, for the whole race we were fast both on new and used tires, keeping the pace constant for the victory, in addition to the stints I had the opportunity to compare myself with those who commanded the race standings and I must say that we lacked nothing but a little luck… we must learn from these mistakes, put them aside and arrive more prepared for the following events.

I am happy to have set SuperStock's best lap again.

I thank all the Wójcik Racing Team for their commitment, my team mates Marek and Danny, my Valentina who always works hard to help me in these extreme efforts and all my sponsors who support and follow me! "

Kevin after the 24h of SPA, will have a period of full concentration on the sprint races of MotoE and CIV SBK, starting from the latter with Round 3 at the Mugello Circuit scheduled for 18 and 19 June.

Kevin thanks all the sponsors and technical partners of the 2022 season.
