The Austrian GP of the Motogp World Championship took place on the Austrian circuit of the Red Bull Ring, which also saw the MotoE World Championship take to the track for the 5th Round of the 2022 season.
Kevin Manfredi, Octo Pramac Racing standard bearer, has achieved a new weekend of growth in the Top10 on a track unknown to him and has been fighting in both races with the 2020 and 2021 Champion Jordi Torres.
In FP1 on Friday Kevin starts very well without having ever lapped on this track and with wet asphalt, obtaining 6th place.
Kevin “A weekend where I was able to get to know my Energica Ego Corsa even better on a track that I had never seen before, very treacherous due to slopes and dry braking.
However, I am half satisfied, the top ten is not what I want, my goal is to achieve more, but I must also be realistic and remember that this category and these bikes are not easy.
Doing an analysis, however, I have to say that at every race I am in line with all the rookie riders of the past years and very close to the leading group, so it's not that bad.
It will be important to take a leap forward during the next race weekend, at the Misano World Circuit, I will have more time to work on the set-up to go even faster. "
Kevin Manfredi thus conquers a 10th place in race 1, hampered by the yellow flag that did not allow him to finalize the overtaking started for the 9th position.
In race 2 he finished eleventh, reducing the gap from the first by more than 6 seconds and fighting with the fifth place group.
The Spezzino therefore recovers two positions in the general classification, bringing himself closer and closer to the leadership as "Rookie of the year".
Now Kevin will have a week off to recharge his batteries in view of the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini GP.
Kevin thanks all the sponsors and technical partners of the 2022 season.
