Rounds 9/10 of the Italian Speed Championship took place last weekend on the iconic ups and downs of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit in Imola.
The Santerno track, challenging, fast, and technical, is considered by all riders to be one of the most beautiful tracks in the world: a circuit where the rider's talent still makes the difference.
Our Kevin Manfredi, competing in Superbike with the Team Penta Motorsport Honda CBR1000RR-R, has proven himself to be one of those riders capable of making the difference.
From free practice and the first qualifying session on Friday, the La Spezia native demonstrated speed and consistency. In Q2 on Saturday, he chose to continue working in race configuration, but without giving up on his pursuit of a fastest lap: with a time of 1'49.6, he secured sixth place on the starting grid.
Kevin: “We're finally back where we deserve to be.
In Race 1, I felt fast: I was already third on the first lap and had the potential to finish on the podium, but a problem with the tone wheel sensor forced me to retire with three laps to go.
In Race 2, I wanted to redeem myself. The Penta team did a great job on Saturday night to fix the bike, and the goal was clear: to attack. I started with determination, with a great feeling on the bike, and lap after lap, overtake after overtake, I took third place, which I defended until the checkered flag.
I'm happy because I've been chasing this podium since the beginning of the season, a podium that slipped away several times through no fault of my own. It would have been difficult to accept another bitter pill to swallow.”
With this result, Kevin Manfredi returns to the podium in the CIV premier class, confirming his quality and professionalism as a rider.
Now two intense weeks await him: the third round of the European Bagger Championship, where he currently sits third in the overall standings, and then the grand finale of the World Endurance Championship with the 24 Hours of Bol d'Or, where he sits second in the championship and fully in contention for the world title.
Kevin thanks all his sponsors and technical partners for their support in this 2025 season.
