The seventh and eighth rounds of the Italian Speed Championship, one of the most anticipated events of the season, took place at the famous Misano Adriatico circuit.
Kevin Manfredi, once again a leading figure in the premier class, Superbike, completed two excellent races, considering this his first full weekend in the Italian Championship.
Numerous technical difficulties encountered in previous races had forced the La Spezia native to retire four times, slowing the development of Team Penta's new Honda project and compromising initial results.
At Misano, however, a new organizational structure finally bore fruit, taking into account the fact that the Manfredi-Honda duo has so far completed fewer kilometers than their direct rivals and has not had access to pre-season testing.
Already in the first free practice sessions at night, an ideal environment for a rider with endurance experience, the number 34 rider rode his CBR1000 to fifth place.
He then confirmed his pace in qualifying, finishing ninth, strategically choosing to run only on race tires ahead of the two heats.
The first race on Saturday evening, scheduled for nighttime, was unfortunately canceled due to bad weather. The Championship therefore decided to reschedule it on Sunday morning, moving Race 2 to the afternoon.
Kevin: “This weekend we were fast, consistent, and solid. The work done here is the foundation that will allow us to grow in the next four rounds. It's a shame about Race 1: racing at night would have been spectacular and, above all, it would have allowed me to make the most of my Endurance experience. On Sunday, however, we finished both races in sixth place, still battling for 4th and 5th place. It's not a podium, admittedly, but we weren't far behind. The riders I battled with are the same ones who reached the podium twice here at Misano in the first round in April. This makes me realize that, with a few more kilometers of development, we can also be in the mix. I've never doubted my potential: I feel good on the CBR, and already at Imola I want to get a little closer to the frontrunners. Only hard work will give us this chance.”
Kevin Manfredi leaves Misano with a smile and 20 important points that reopen a standings still to be written.
Now it's time for him to fly to Japan, where one of the most prestigious events awaits him: the legendary Suzuka 8 Hours.
Kevin thanks all his sponsors and technical partners for their support in the 2025 season.
