The final round of the Italian Superbike Championship took place at the Mugello International Circuit, on a weekend marked by cold temperatures and Sunday rain, conditions that tested all the riders and provided a great show on the track.
La Spezia native Kevin Manfredi, fresh from his podium finish at Imola in September, once again demonstrated his worth, missing the podium by just 44 thousandths of a second in Sunday morning's Sprint Race.
Free practice and Qualifying 1 on Friday saw Kevin working hard to find the right setup for the Penta Motorsport Honda CBR1000RR-R, finishing ninth on the grid.
On Saturday, with temperatures of just 9°C on the asphalt, the joint work between the rider, team, and Andreani Group brought significant improvements, with Manfredi able to climb to 5th place in the combined times, while maintaining ninth place on the grid for the weekend's three races: Race 1, Sprint Race, and Race 2.
Kevin: "It was a complicated weekend. The cold weather made it difficult for our Honda's setup, but by working hard, we managed to find a good balance and fight for the podium in both the wet Sprint Race and the dry Race 2. In Race 1, after a good start and a decent recovery, I didn't get higher than 7th place: starting from the back is never easy. In Sunday morning's Sprint Race, the rain changed the cards. After an excellent initial start, I took third place and fought until the last lap for the podium, missing it by just 44 thousandths, thanks to the Aprilia's superior speed on the track. straight. In Race 2 I had a lot of fun: after a few laps I was already third, but a small mistake trying to close the gap to the top two forced me to go wide and lose several positions. I tried to come back but finished sixth. It's a shame, but I'm happy: I felt fast and in great shape.”
With a seventh-place finish in the 2025 Italian Superbike Championship, Kevin Manfredi and Penta Motorsport close out their fourth season together, their first with Honda, at the end of a year that wasn't without its challenges, marked by five technical retirements but also by constant progress and solid performances in all conditions.
An intense and consistent team effort that allowed Kevin and the team to remain protagonists until the final race.
Kevin will now return to the track on the first weekend of November in Jerez de la Frontera to compete in the final two races of the Bagger Racing League Europe, officially concluding his 2025 season.
Kevin thanks all the sponsors and technical partners who supported the 2025 season, making every result achieved on the track possible.
