After two seasons that ended in crescendo aboard the GSX-R1000, with the second place achieved at Misano 2023 which saw Suzuki on the podium again after five long years, Kevin and Ivan Goretti's Team Penta Motorsport have decided to continue together also in 2024.
The team will once again be at the start of the Italian Superbike Championship in five rounds out of the six scheduled, this will give continuity to the work done to date and also with a view to the future.
A decision made during the winter break which saw the Team owner once again focus on the Spezzino with whom he has created an excellent relationship both on and off the track.
Kevin: “I am extremely happy and satisfied to be able to race the CIV SBK again and above all to do it with Penta Motorsport which is a unique team. In 2023 we were only present at 50% of the events due to the various coincidences with the other Championships, this year however, we will participate in 90% of the Championship, with the possibility of competing for more points and an important position in the final ranking.
It will certainly be difficult to obtain the same results as last year, given that the level of the Championship seems to have risen further, we would have a 2017 Suzuki at our disposal, against a 2024 bike on the track, but with the method and commitment put in up to now I'm sure that on several occasions we would have our say, also thanks to the support of the Andreani Group, which will have new solutions for us to try already in the first seasonal tests."
Kevin and Team Penta will take to the track in Misano on 18/19 March for the first test session and subsequently for the first round of the season scheduled for early April.
The dates of the Italian Superbike Speed Championship in which Kevin will be present are the following:
- 06/07 April (Misano);
- 22/23 June (Mugello);
- 03/04 August (Misano);
- 31/01 August/September (Mugello);
- 28/29 September (Imola).
Kevin thanks all the sponsors and technical partners of the 2024 season.
