The sixth round of the MotoGP and the first round of the FIM Enel Moto-E World Cup took place on the Spanish Circuit of Jerez.
Kevin Manfredi, although still not at 100% physically after the accident he had in the first test of the season, is finally back on the Energica Ego Corsa of Team Octo Pramac.
The mixed conditions of the circuit highlight the Spezzino since FP1 on Friday, starting strong and finishing in the Top5.
In FP2 and Qualifying, on the other hand, Kevin struggles a bit, having to settle for 14th place on the starting grid but every time he enters the track his feeling with the bike improves.
Kevin: "The first race weekend was the real test for me, after the injury that abruptly interrupted my first tests and with the second seasonal test conditioned by the rain, in this first round I was able to really do the kilometers necessary to gain confidence and understand how to make the most of this bike.
It was a weekend in continuous growth: in qualifying we had to settle for 14th place on the grid, in race 1 we finished in 13th place 10 seconds from the first and in race 2 we further improved our time, race pace and start, reaching the 10th place with a gap from the first reduced by more than 5 seconds. A step forward that will surely be useful for the rest of the season.
I am satisfied with the work we are doing with the team, we still need to grow as it is my first year in this particular category but we are definitely on the right path. "
Kevin Manfredi leaves Jerez with an excellent result and important progress that bodes well for the next rounds of the Moto-E World Championship.
This weekend we will see the rider from Spezzino compete in his first race with the Suzuki of Team Penta Motorsport at the Vallelunga circuit for the second round of the Italian Speed Championship, a very difficult new test for Kevin who, compared to the other riders, will face this second round with a new one. team, a new bike, without having faced any tests, and having missed the first two races of the Championship due to the injury in March.
Kevin thanks all the sponsors and technical partners of the 2022 season.
