DIFFICULT WEEKEND IN NAVARRA

On the Spanish circuit of Navarra located in Los Arcos, a round of the Superbike World Championship was held for the first time, precisely the seventh round of the season.

For the driver Kevin Manfredi, engaged in the European and World Supersport 600 category, it was the first time on this Spanish track, a track that was immediately very difficult and that put him to the test during all the rounds.

Unfortunately, the rider and the team were unable to find the right direction to set up a bike that would allow them to continue to remain in the top positions conquered in Assen and Most.

The centaur Spezzino did not give up in front of the obvious difficulties, he gritted his teeth and tried to bring home the best he could, winning two second places in the European Championship.

Results obtained that do not satisfy Kevin, who is sure to be able to achieve much more as he has already shown previously both in the World SSP and in the CIV.

Kevin: “The one that just ended was perhaps the worst weekend to date, we unfortunately threw away an opportunity to take very important points for our ranking, although we are still fortunately still leaders of the European Championship. It will be a continuation of the season with a “knife in the teeth”, with Caricasulo becoming more and more direct opponent and the new entry into the Championship of the Japanese driver Okubo.

In this weekend we have never been able to find a good base for the chassis, we have overturned the bike several times but we have not been able to find the right combination.

There is no time to get down, we have to examine the past weekend and the mistakes made to make it a precious baggage for the rest of the season.

The next two rounds of the Championship will be Magny Cours and Barcelona, where last year we collected two 5th places in the World Championship, it would be very nice to replicate what we achieved in 2020 and relaunch ourselves in the top 10 of the World rankings. We will work hard for this. "

Kevin, however, before returning to the SuperSport Championship, will race this weekend on the Mugello Circuit, for the 5th Round of the CIV 2021, where he will try to earn useful points for the classification and for the grand finale of Vallelunga.

Kevin thanks all the sponsors and technical partners of the 2021 season.
