The Magny-Cours circuit has been a fixture of the Superbike World Championship for several years and again this year it has been a huge showcase for the great shows that have taken place between the various categories present.
On the French circuit Kevin Manfredi immediately felt in great shape, dominating all the tests and races of the European Supersport 600 and thus winning the second double of the season and the 7th victory. However, not only the results obtained in the European Championship should be emphasized, but also those in the World Championship, which saw him consistently be in the top 10 and also in the battle for the podium area in the first half of the race.
The Spezzino with Team AltoGo's Yamaha R6 demonstrated excellent speed from the very beginning, thus bringing the Team to the top positions together with multi-titled and official teams, such as GMT Yamaha, MV racing department, ParkingGO Yamaha etc.
From the first tests on Friday Kevin was the author of the 1st time in the European Championship and the 10th in the World Championship, with a reduced gap from the leaders compared to the previous weekends.
An impressive qualifying on Saturday which saw the new record of the circuit, the European pole and the 7th World position of Kevin just 0.5 tenths from the Leadership, a result that attracted congratulations to the driver also from Eric De Seynes , president of Yamaha Motor Europe.
In the two races on Saturday and Sunday Kevin has shown his growth again in this Championship, conquering two doubles with a gap on his European rivals but above all with a fight in the top positions of the World Championship, concluding respectively 12th and 11th just 3 seconds from the zone podium.
Kevin Manfredi: “Two very important victories for the classification and also for morale, with these we go to 7 and keep the European Leadership. After the hard work in Navarra and the excellent work done at Mugello, on the French circuit we continued our growth and our development path, we are a private team and right at Magny-Cours we fought for important positions in the World Championship against teams and drivers. of the caliber of Ten Kate, 10 times world champion between SBK and SSP and Aegerter, former Moto2 rider, current contender for the World Title.
Surely we still have a lot of work to do to be able to constantly reach the top 5 in the World Championship, but we are on the right path and this season finale will be useful to give continuity to this path.
I am happy with the double, but even more so with having started from the second row and having also covered many laps in the top 6.
The next weekends will not be easy at all, but we must not give up, we can achieve a lot and my goal is to succeed! ”.
Kevin Manfredi will therefore arrive in Barcelona, on the Catalunya circuit still in command of the European Supersport Championship, the last rounds of the Championship will be decisive and very aggressive with the arrival of riders such as Caricasulo and Okubo.
Kevin thanks all the sponsors and technical partners of the 2021 season.
